Second CFC Challenge Card

This is the second CFC challenge card for the Outlawz weekly challenge. I managed to get two done yesterday because my laundry room is upstairs close to my craft room.  I created, then ran to fold clothes when the buzzer sounded.  I at least was productive in getting my laundry done.

These shadow box cards are fun, quick and easy to make.

April CTMH Workshop

These are the great cards and tea bag holder we made at the CTMH workshop at Kandi's.  I will be making more tea bag holders for the different teas that I have.  My mother in law gave me a great idea, to give these away as a little party favor when I give a tea party.  Great idea!

This shows the size next to a 2 cup teapot

Cute Birthday card

Loved this little rose ribbon.

Learned how to make this very cute faux bow.. so easy!

We had a great time Kandi.  I'm looking forward to your next workshop.

Missing In Action

I'm afraid I've been MIA for the last week.  My mother in law came for a week visit, so everything else was put on hold.  We had a wonderful time.  I've got such a sweet mother in law.

We went to a great card workshop at our favorite CTMH demonstrator, Kandi's house.  (You can find her blog over at teojax.blogspot.com)  We made three cards and a fun tea bag dispenser.  I will post those a little later. I still need to take pictures.  I didn't think to do them all today when I entered my challenge card.

I managed to squeak in one card to show you for today.  This was titled Prom Night for the CFC Challenge this week on The Outlawz.

I need to get some grocery shopping done today as well as catch up on laundry.  It is sure nice being a homemaker and not having to worry about a time clock.  I do intend to do more blogging this afternoon.

Crafting Mojo

I have finally found my crafting mojo since I found The Outlawz group.  What fun.  I have been entering my cards in the different challenges and just having a blast.  My mother in law is going to be here next week so I'm going to try to avoid my craft room tomorrow and finish up my housework.

I was so surprised to learn that I won the weekly drawing at MayzyArt.  I won 5 of her darling digis. I can't wait to get started on those cards.

Here are the cards I have done in the last couple of days.

This is one for the Freebie Challenge.

This one is for the color challenge. It isn't the best I've done by any means. I struggled with this one.

This was for the Wednesday Sketch challenge.
I'm not sure you can tell but the cupcake wrapper was paper pieced. I used the styrofoam technique for the icing on the cupcake

.

Finally, this card was for the Twisted Thursday where anything goes, with a twist to use something recycled.  The recycled part was the black netting which was from a turkey breast roast and the shells were recycled from an old necklace I picked up at the thrift store.

The Outlawz Monday Challenge

Today's challenge was to come up with a card that has something to do with your first name.  I did a balloon for Becky and the sentiment started with a B.  After seeing all the other beautiful cards I was embarrassed to submit mine but like the saying goes, "Its not about winning, it's how you play the game."  It was a challenge to do what I came up with even though it was simple.  I just wanted to participate and get to know the ladies in the group.

Here is my balloon!

The background paper was from the pattern pack of Colorbok called Sweet Summer.  The stamps are from Glitz vintage blue and afternoon muse.  I'm not sure where the sentiment came from.  Hope you like it.

Feelin Crafty

I mentioned the wonderful site, The Outlawz..and the freebie digital art that is offered .. AND the wonderful artists...well, it has made me feel so creative.  Today I made a card with a free digi I picked up on that site by the awesome artist, Mayzy Green.  She has a website, Mayzy Art that you should check out.  I absolutely love her artwork. I draw a little, but oh how I wish I could draw like her.  Anne Fenton and Sandi Hugget are also fabulous artists who have given some freebies.  I am sure there are others that I haven't discovered yet.

I had fun with this card because the the little girl rocking out is just so cute.  I added the musical notes and some little dots in the background to add my own touch.

The card is 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches.  The paper is Happy Days by Lori Whitlock, the sentiment is by Stamping Bella.  And the art....dum dum de dum... by Mayzy Green.  (can you tell I'm her fan?)

My fur baby is not very happy with me because I am not paying attention to her.  She has been standing on her hind legs pulling stuff off my work table that she can reach.  I haven't introduced you to her yet...her name is Minnie and we rescued her from the pound about 12 years ago.  She absolutely is in love with my husband which is too funny.  I'll have to dig up a picture I have of her snuggling him.  She gives me "stink eye" when I come around when she is snuggling.  What an attitude!

I'm going to give her some love now so she will stop bothering me.

Such Talented Artists and Crafters

I am in awe of the fabulously talented people that I have discovered in my travels online. I am always searching for ideas for new cards.  I have found a lot of amazing, friendly, talented people.  One site I just have to recommend is The Outlawz group. http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/ They have an amazing gallery of the most talented people with many different challenges available.  There is also a "Freebie" area where I have found the wonderful artists who share their digital drawings.  I haven't actually participated in any of the challenges, but I do intend to now that I have a blog.  There is a Wednesday Sketch Challenge that I am going to be working on today.

You really ought to check out this site.  I guarantee, if you are a paper crafter, card maker, scrapbooker, or even an artist, you will love this site.

This is the card I came up with for their Wednesday challenge.

What fun! Since this is the first time I have participated, I hope I can figure out how to upload it to their site.

My next challenge is to clean my craft desk off.  Does anyone else have a mess like this when they are crafting?

This is what it should look like.....

I'm off now to do some creative housework.  Ugh...this was so much more fun!

Fabric Paper

Today I thought I would give the  new fabric paper from DCWV a try.  I just have to say, it takes a lot of fussing.  I found that my Cricut didn't cut it too well.  The fabric is very thin on the adhesive background.  The backing stuck really bad to my Cricut cutting pad and the fabric stretches if you aren't careful.  I haven't given up on it though. It is beautiful paper.  I love anything vintage and this certainly reminds me of vintage wallpaper.
