It's Friday and I have the whole weekend to play. I just finished The Hunger Games Trilogy and now can concentrate on some of my crafts. I do highly recommend the series. Very intense and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
In between cleaning and reading, I had to make a Birthday card for my son. He is very outdoorsy and does a lot of hunting to feed the family. He wouldn't appreciate any fluff or flowers.
I came up with this layout. I used a PCHugbug clip art for the goose and hand cut the cattails by hand. I added brown flock to the cattails to give it a little more character.
Another Birthday card I really enjoyed making was a black and white easel card. Its the first card I have made with just black and white. What do you think?
Before I can do any crafting, I need to do something with my table. Seems like I have everything on my desk that I dug out to make my cards. So, I'm off to pick up. Have a great weekend! Hope you get to play too!

Thinking of You
Okay, one more post then I am gone for the day. I got the circle, square, scallop layout from a card I saw on pinterest. My sewing machine needs some adjustments, or I need to learn how to sew on paper better. I love pink and green together.
HoneyPop Birthday Card
This is the inside of the HoneyPop card. Such a cute little balloon! I need to play with it more but I wanted to show how cute this is. What do you think?

HoneyPop
If you haven't heard of PaperWishes.com you really need to check it out if you enjoy paper crafts. They have some great Webisodes that show you how to use their products. The latest Webisode that I watched was about a product they call HoneyPop. You know those honey comb decorations you can get for parties? Well they have special paper that is like that for card making. Paper Wishes has the cutest stamps to use with the honey pop papers. I am working on a Birthday card right now and will post it when I am finished.
These are the papers and stamps they have for this product.

Some Birthday cards I had fun making, and just some general cards.
I saw the tutorial on SCS for this cute little curtain card. I didn't do it quite right, but I still think it turned out cute. |
Crooked Easel Card |
This little Birthday card is for my grandson. It has a money holder inside. |
I had fun with this one. I used a piece of the plastic from my Cricut cutting pad for the tag. |
New Card
This is the latest card I just finished. I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest but I needed to put my own spin on it. It is 6 1/2 X 5 and the paper used was Mariposa, Making Memories and Fancy Pants. I used my Cricut with the Elegant Edges cartridge and welded the 2" scallop and square together, then scored it where the scallop and square met. I punched a 3/4 inch circle and put the eyelet in the middle. So that it wasn't all perfect, I slightly bent the edges of the circle. The butterfly is from Paper Wishes and is one of 3-D Butterfly Dazzles. I'm not sure where I got the stamp, but I know it was in the $1.00 bin at Craft Warehouse. The heart stick pins were Dritz that I purchased at JoAnn's in the dressmakers isle.
